KEN NITZ • 12 Years • 16,000 Acres

Access to open space is vital for our quality of life.  The health of our region's plant and wildlife species depends on preserving open space.

The MidPeninsula Regional Open Space District is a regional greenbelt system in the San Francisco Bay area. It comprises over 57,000 acres of land in 26 open space preserves protected for public enjoyment and use. I am running for re-election for the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space (MROSD) Board of Directors.

I have a proven track record of preserving open space for the people of the Bay Area. I have served as your elected representative for 12 years.

I have been an environmentalist for over thirty years, and regularly hike the preserves, particularly those near my Ward:  Pulgas Ridge, Windy Hill and Thornewood.

I take a detail-oriented approach to Board service:

  • scrutinizing the budget and policies,
  • asking lots of questions,
  • pushing District staff to respond to citizen’s concerns as well as those of the Board.

Explore my website to learn more about me, what I have accomplished, and my positions on the issues facing the District. Thank you.
